The food was good the service was good and the atmosphere was great, we started out with drinks at the bar and it was lovely. Like a medieval castle, and the cocktails were excellent. I would go back to this place again and again

A little gem of a restaurant located next to The Bowery Hotel. We had several meals & all were delicious. Staff is friendly & ambiance is cozy. Had a nice wine list as well.

We ordered the beet salad, prosciutto pizza and a variety of cocktails (the Dolce Vita was my favorite!). Finished it off with tiramisu. Loved everything, the service was great, ambiance felt very NY and they accommodated us as a last minute walk in. Would highly recommend.

This was an excellent brunch spot in a nice hotel. We had 3 adults and 1 kid in a spacious booth. Our servers were excellent - all helping each other bring items out and taking things away. I had the eggs in purgatory (baked eggs, tomato sauce, onions, olives, capers, thyme, parmigiano) which was delicious! Not super filling but packed a ton of flavor. Others in my party had the blueberry pancakes, egg sandwich, and eggs a la Gemma. We opted for their smoothies and these were delicious as well. We all enjoyed our meals but what really stood out was the amazing service. Prices are on the higher side but what did you expect in this area? Would definitely come back while visiting NYC.

I enjoyed a delightful dinner celebrating my friend's birthday. The Arancini and Burrata appetizers were incredibly delicious, highly recommended. My Cacio E Pepe pasta entree was very satisfying, and everyone at the table enjoyed their meals. I opted for the Gelato with espresso pour-over for dessert, and it was absolutely exquisite! The service was excellent, and the restaurant exuded a charming rustic Italian ambiance. I look forward to returning!

Our dinner at Gemma was spectacular. Great food, decent sized portions (and definitely recommend splitting a pizza), expansive bar area, and warm ambiance. It was chic and cozy at the same time. Perfect for date night or gathering with friends, but would highly recommend making a reservation in advance. We visited on a Saturday night and it was packed. With so many other options in the area, this was definitely a good sign of a great experience to come. Loved how "on-brand" everything was - from the menu, to the glass water bottles, sugar packets for your after dinner espresso, and on the receipts. All Gemma everything!

My boyfriend had his birthday dinner here recently and it was great! We had some really good drinks and the Tuna Tartare was a delicious appetizer that most of us ordered and loved. I had the seafood Paella which was really really good and everyone seemed to really enjoy their dishes. The service was decent and nice but nothing special. Nothing went wrong and they were very nice but they weren't as attentive as I would want. The restaurant itself has a lot of wood and welt very warm and cozy but the style was not my favorite. Overall this place has really good food but I'm not rushing to go here again.

A friend recommended Gemma, saying she liked the food and the look of the place. Strong marks for ambience and the gothic atmosphere! It would be a fun spot to grab a drink and just enjoy the candles and chandelier. We had the Gemma Salad, which was quite hearty, had lots of texture and colour. I had the Verdure Pizza. The lemon and parmigiano complemented each other well. I love a restaurant with a dedicated dessert menu! The Torta di Cioccolato was beautifully plated and great way to end a lovely meal.

Gemma is a pretty classic brunch spot in the Bowery area and it's a solid place to step in if you're spontaneously craving a bite, like my friend and I were. They have many typical brunch dishes as well as some pastas. The server brought out some complimentary warm banana bread and butter for us and this might have been the highlight of the meal. The banana bread was fresh and soft on the inside with some crust on the outside and the butter added a soft, sweet and savory flavor. The frittata was fine, but a little dry. The avocado toast was quite good with or without the egg addition, well-seasoned and generous with both avocado and toppings. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but it's a place that won't let you down and will likely have an open table during brunch time.
